Australian Hollywood glamour, Nicole Mary Kidman, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1967 to Australian born parents. Almost immediately they moved to the USA and when Kidman was four moved to Australia. It is in Australia that Nicole started pursuing her acting career; dropping out of school at the age of 16 and becoming involved in the St. Martin's Youth Theatre and later the Philip Street Theatre in Sydney.
Kidman got her first break in the Australian movie Bush Christmas (1983) and also appeared in TV series such as the famous soap opera A Country Practice. With the help of an American agent, she made her way to the US and starred in the thriller Dead Calm (1989).
Kidman has been nominated and has won countless awards including a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in Motion, Musical or Comedy for one of her more famous movies Moulin Rouge. She has won Golden Globes for her performances in Cold Mountain, The Others and To Die For.
Her most famous relationship included actor Tom Cruise, where they met on set of filming Days of Thunder in 1990. They wed later that year and adopted two children, daughter Isabella Jane Cruise and son Connor Anthony Cruise. They endured a long process with the press defending their relationships with claims Tom was hiding his sexuality. They separated and divorced 10 years later due to conflicting careers. In June 2006, Kidman married Australian country legend Keith Urban and in January 2008, it was reported that the pair were expecting their first child together.
